Employee Mentality:
“Anyone who is equal or subordinate to me and who asserts a suggestion for process improvement is stepping on my toes.”
Owner Mentality:
“I want to know what I don’t know. What is the least cost and most efficient manner to accomplish a given task or objective? If I am able to bundle tasks and accomplish more with the same resources than that is what I want to do. I really don’t care who comes up with the idea, I’ll listen to the janitor if he has a good idea. Ideas that work better will be implemented and those which do not work as well will be discarded.”
On Seniority:
“My time on the job affords me certain privilege over others who have not been at the job as long as I have.”
Owner Mentality
“It doesn’t matter whether I have been open for business for only a month or am established twenty five years. What is relevant is how my customers feel about my company. I know that if I am to continue to flourish I must not rest on my reputation alone. Today is a new day where I must provide credible value in the marketplace which separates my company from the lot. If I fail to do this, someone else will most certainly step up to take my place. “
On Productivity:
“I will give an equivalent sum of my personal effort in proportion to my pay grade”

On customer service:
Posted hours state closing time at 5:00pm, a customer came into my establishment at 4:59pm;
“Sir, we’re closing in one minute so you need to hurry it up.”

“Did you find everything that you were looking for? Thank you for your patronage, oh no worries I don’t mind staying a few extra minutes for you, after all it is you who pays my salary”
On company assets:
“I park near the front door of the business because I am the first one to get to work and it is the shortest distance to walk”
Owner Mentality
“We exist to service our customers; if I take the prime parking spots for myself and my staff I am essentially telling the customers that they are not our first priority. In their shoes I just might take my business someplace where there is more consideration for the customer”
